Roberto Cavalli Autumn/Winter 2009

Roberto Cavalli was born November 15, 1940 in Florence, Italy, in a family of artists. His grandfather, Giuseppe Rossi was a famous painter, whose works were exhibited in the Uffizi Gallery.

Roberto Cavalli has studied in a world famous Florentine Academy of Fine Arts, which has gained necessary for his future work in the field of learning design and spatial arts. As a student, Roberto made a few interesting collection, which saw the largest knitwear factories in Italy.
In the early 1970’s Roberto Cavalli invented and patented a unique procedure for the application prints on the skin, and distinguished himself for his work in implementing a patchwork technique.

At the age of 30 Roberto Cavalli showed his new fashion collection in the salon Prêt-à-Porter in Paris. In 1972, he held his first fashion show at the famous Florentine palace Palazzo Pitti. In the same year, Roberto Cavalli founded his first fashion boutique in Saint Tropez in France.

In 1998, Cavalli has created a line «Just Cavalli»: men’s and women’s clothing, accessories, optics, watches, perfume, lingerie and beachwear.
Now he lives with his wife Eva Dyuringer and children at a private villa near Florence.
