Ben Stiller was born November 30, 1965 in New York, United States, in the actors’ family. Ben’s father, Jerry Stiller was pop humorist, his mother, Ann Mira filmed on television. In 10 years he began to shoot at his own 8-mm camera. In 1983, Stiller finished school and entered the University of California. Remained there for an year, he decided that he has not got anything new for them, and returned to New York and enrolled in acting courses.
Soon he found himself an agent and in 1985 received a major role in the Broadway play “The House of Blue Leaves” by John Guara. The play was a huge success, won four prizes “Tony,” and Ben Stiller has gained the reputation of promising young talent. However, he was still not decided on what path he should go -- to the actor or the director. Playing in the play, he shot and mounted parallel to amateur short films, which are usually played by his colleagues in the theater. Especially great success was a 10-minute parody of Scorsese film “The Color of Money” where Stiller played himself Tom Cruise and his partner John Mehouni -- Paul Newman. The film came to the table producers humorous TV “Live on Saturday evening, and they immediately bought the rights to it.
Ben Stiller made his debut on the big screen in 1987 in Steven Spielberg’s movie «Empire of the Sun». In 1989, Stiller appeared in the television show “Saturday night live“. In 1992, started a comedy program on MTV «Ben Stiller Show», while played a small roles in movies. A year later, closed the MTV show.
In 1994, he put the tape caustic satire “Reality Bites” that recognized “Requiem for a generation X” -- the college students who do not wish to take the world as he is.
